| Marion county Florida has a new sales leader for retail sales in 2007. For independently owned and operated pre-owned dealers "Prestige Auto Sales" was #1 in retail sales for 2007. The department of motor vehicles tracks sales for all dealers, both new and pre-owned and for Marion county "Prestige" was the only pre-owned dealer to surpass 700 sales for the year of 2007. The dealership is owned by Chris Spears who himself is a life-time Marion county resident and who joined the automotive business right out of college in 1985. Prestige has three locations in the Marion county Florida. To tell you a little about our county, according to the US Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,663 square miles, of which, 1,579 square miles of it is land and 84 square miles of it (5.06%) is water. Marion county is about a two hour drive from many of Florida's major cities, Orlando is 90 minutes to the southeast while Daytona Beach is also 90 minutes to the east.
